Changing key barrels

Daisy is on the road and going fine - but i have a hitch with the key switch - it is sticking. It is not the lock getting causght on the shaft caust i pulled it to pieces and it was sticking when outhside the car.
I have a good spare barrel from Blue - a 74L.
What i cant work out is how thw "barrel" comes out of the cast aluminium bit that clamps onto the steering colom.
The one off the 74L has i little tag(?) that i can see if you push in you can pull the barrel out a bit further but the 82 kombi doesnt have this tag/catch/thingie.

Can i swap the 2 over or do i have to get a complete cast bit?

It may also be a brass pin that is holding it in...you ned the lock in the open position to draw the barrel all the way out otherwise all the waffers get in the way...and the face cap..
