speedo question. Need 6 x km numbers for rego

Went to register my buggy the other day. Because of an ADR the Engineer knocked back my L'bug speedo because it had 5 km numbers. (the red tumbler number didn't count).

I am now searching for a speedo with 6 KM numbers that can be fitted relatively easy in its place. Would prefer a vw one but am prepared to fit anything.

Has someone fitted a speedo from another car and had instant success, or can point me in the right direction?
Thanks Clarkey.

I didn't know that was the law... my speedo passed with only 5 numbers, but maybe it's different in Vic. I reckon you were pretty hard done by, maybe he didn't like your car.

As far as I know all VW have only 5 numbers, well at least the ones I've looked at.

Sorry I'm no help on suggesting a replacment, I still reckon you got shafted.

Some only have 5 numbers....
so 6 including the 1/10th tumbler should be OK....

I'd go somewhere else.....

You don't have to modify Your speedo...

as that is the way they were made..... ORIGINAL OEM....

He can't make You do that.... {We all know what He is*]

i've found one

thanks for the comments of support guys but at this stage of the process I reckon I'll go for the "yes sir, no sir" type attitude and fit what I'm told.
.
Looks like I could be out of trouble now with a modified one. clarkey.
