How can I get to the sender, does the tank need to come out?

Sorry again. Not enough details. It is a 74 Kombi and needle on the fule guage jumps up and down when I start the engine. Bumps make it worse. Ta

I'd check the guage first, it's easier to get to.
To get to the fuel tank on a kombi (other than a ute) you need to remove the engine.
