Kads are Ok....but....

All dependes what you want to pay. New Kads are well over the $1k mark. For less you can pick up a real good 2nd hand set of dual 2 barrels ie IDF's DRLA's DCNF's etc

You CAN just wack on a set of Kads to a stock 1600 and get some improvement.

I have known a "few" people who have picked up good Kads for under $400......
And i knew a few people who have paid $2k for new 44 IDF's.......and i knew who was happier..

Cry once (says me who bought 2 nd stuff and needs to replace some of it)

There was a set of Kadrons in the Melb Trading Post last week for $400. I like the Kadrons because they have more "period/classic" than the Webers.

Yep...that is not bad....but be aware you could be up for another $100 or 2 if the linkage is trash.
You also have trouble getting rebuild kits for them.....just not as easy as IDF's.
IF they came in at $600 for a little bit more you can have IDF's..........MUCH more tuneability(?)

kadron rebuild kits are easy to source up here in sunny Brisbane. We fitted a set to my mates 1916 and whilst it dose'nt pull like it would with some 44~48:) webbers it runs just fine, in fact a little to rich. I'm not sure I'd for out 1K for them though :( at that price injection is starting to look like an easier option.

Kadron Carbies??

yeah i would like to add me two cents to the original post. I currently have twin kadrons on my stock 1641 and they are just awesome, as is the sound, so naturally i would recommend them to anyone if u can get a 2nd hand set. i paid $500 for mine 2nd hand and they are great.

I have Kad's on my stock 1600TP....
Not had a problem.
I bought them second hand and just bolted them on.........

And as far as i know..... Stan THE MAN uses them standard on his 1641 hillclimbers.......
So what else would you want.....

you can get single port manifolds if you look hard enough.
Once again - no point. You may as well put twin port heads on. Cheaper and easier
