Dan, we didn't even CONSIDER the thrust bearing! I have stuffed them before but just ...well.... didn't think full stop.
I sure hope it is cos that would be a ray of sunshine in gloomy weather. BUT, if it is I need to hang my head in stupid shame and then put my car in
gear and let it run-over me.

Hmm, actually, thinking on it, a thrust bearing would make noise when you engage the clutch right? This noise stops when the cllutch is engaged.
Doh.

neah, it's the thrust bearing by the sound of it.......if it makes the noise when the the clutch is out it's stuffed. When you push it in, it places
a load on it and the noise stops but it's ugly inside the bearing

Hey guys.
What were the final plans? Date, destination, duration etc?
I had a look at my thrust bearing and it was a bit dodgy and may have been part of the problem becasue now there is less noise, but still noise.
Same deal. Push clutch in, noise stops, let clutch out, noise starts. In neutral and in gear. I know it is not the thrust bearing this time. I mght
just see how long it takes to give up the ghost or if it gets worse.

this will be the first outting for my new car...
