you can get a Bosch electronic for around $40.00 I dont know what a mechanical will cost, but it is better to buy a new one.

Last time I bought a Bug regulator it cost me $75 in Adelaide.

They are about $32 in the USA (go figure).

The bus regulator is a 38 amp unit so make sure you get the right one - not a 30 amp bug regulator.

I just went down to Repco, told them it was a Kombi what year and what motor, they carry heaps of Bosch stuff! and its cheaper than K Mart cause you get it in a cardboard box, and not plastic! keep the Number off the box and put it in your tool box, or someware safe and next time you know what type you need!

John at http://www.aircooled.net  has the bus regulator (to suit the Bosch GR 17X generator - the 38amp unit) for $39.95 US.

So they ARE available.

You could try Mickmotors (this site's sponsor) - top of page.
