I have a 1600TP with a PICT30 and I get 10L/100km or 10KM/L for some. This seems to be constant for both the highway and the city.

It's interesting that a number of petrol stations here in West Oz have big ads declaring they have 0% ethanol in their fuel (not!) Personally, I
don't think a small amount of (declared) alcohol would be a bad thing. Just going off what a lot of knowledgeable people have found.

I can definitely feel the difference when I fill up at a 'no name' station, where the petrol always has ethanol in it. The one on the left
at Peakhurst, just before Stony Creek Road, was the most recent. My Kombi's idle is less smooth, throttle response is not as quick and the motor
just feels less crisp all over.
It's so simple to work out your consumption in litres/100 km - why do it any other way? You drive 345 km on 45 litres of fuel (say). Just divide
litres by km, then x 100 (13.04 L/100 km).
The best thing about doing it this way - litres per km rather than km per litre - is that the result is a true consumption figure, rather than a
mileage figure. In other words, if you use more fuel, the number gets bigger rather than smaller. With the old mpg, the more fuel you used, the lower
your number got!

Phil,
I think it's all a matter of personal preference. I will alway use km/L. This way I remember 1 number and it easily tells me the things I need to
know, how many km I get on the fuel put in the tank (will I make the next bowser?) and if I have done X km since filling up I know how many liters are
going into the tank as a rough check the bowser isn't giving a faulty reading!!
Mind you haveing a working fuel gauge and trip metermakes this easy 
Anyway that's my 2c worth :thumb

just did the figures on my '69 1500
8.5 l/100km or34 mpg driving reasonably conservatively around melbourne
tuned and maintained by your truly (a rank novice)

on the highway i get 10L/100km and around town about 12L/100km, thats a 1776, with twin 40mm dells. and it gets driven hard. |

the old Auto 2 L fuel inj 77 bay Kombi got an impressive (Not) 17 L / 100 km = 16.7 MPG full of people cruising to ACT and back to Sydney few years
back.
Our latest Auto 2 L carbied with advance cranked up as much as safe and cruising 100km/h down hills and 80 KM/h up got average
11 L / 100 km = 25.8 MPG on last trip to Qld from Syd.
I'll have to check for around town, they are very short trips with mostly sitting in Road construction Ques, so wont be good.

Oval - very light , Pobjoy 1916 with 34 pict ( yes jetted out severely ) does 28 MPG around town with lots of Traffic light hero stuff.
