It sounds like the turbo will be staying through at least the beginning of this upa dn coming model change, as well as the 1.6, but the days of the '2.slow' are dwindling for sure.

My "2.slow" is not that slow.. Specially compared to the 2.EXTREMELYslow in the Honda CR-V..
Maybe it is the chip or the system, but it virtually keeps up with a 142kW X-Trail. I was happy.. sorta. Didn't like getting dragged by that. :fakesniff:

wohoo so far have had none of those problems...but i have also already replaced the DV, cause of the retuning...and have already replaced the suspension, it did fail in the shocks but that happens when you put extremely low springs in it...so out they came for some adjustable coilovers.

Ive been told that the 1.8T is already gone...its also not on new car searching. I didnt bother with their web site, they never update it.

Mine aint 2 slow either. She has enough bang to keep me happy and enough restraint to keep my wallet and Mr Plod happy

Me? I would not dream of doing anything of the sort. I am simply implying that all of the VW enthusiasts would love to see a new beetle with oval window inserts, as it is well known how well the new beetle and other watercooled VW's have been recieved by the VW community. :thumb

I just checked the drive.com.au website... and we have the 1.9 PDI. Yay! Finally! This is the go! Extremely robust engine and great fuel economy.

It's obviously the replacement for the 2.0 (which doesn't pass Euro III emissions). Sad to see the 1.8t gone as well. That baby was sooooo tunable. With trick bits from the Audi S3 / TT, you could get 165 kW from it, and 132 kW with just a chip flash.

thanks
Andrew

Had my NB's exhaust changed Xmas eve. It's now 3inch from the manifold up to the first muffler, then 2.5inch to the rear.Geezus it made a difference and sounds awesome. Will have to get a chip for the auto now-when I belt it and change manually-it lags a bit on the changes. The exhaust bloke will need to do a mod when he reopens-the joiner flange in the middle just touches the body when driving it hard.I am very happy with it though.
