Will 73 Bug seats fit onto a 70 Bug?
Hi Guys
Easy question I think.....(just not for me)
Will 1973 Beetle Seats fit on to a 1970 Beetle tracks?
The 73 seats are high back I believe, were the original seats in a 70 low back?
And does anyone know if the seats in Beetles over here were the same as the ones in America, ie: if I were to order their seat upholstery, would it
fit?
Thanks
Jess x

ok the seats wont fit as the rails are different ie the 70 is the L shape rail and the 73 is ether t rail or the 3 point mount

You will need to be careful here....
as USA Beetles were different in many things, seats were one...
I have read where the seats were changed in the 70s,
some wider, some thinner, and many had adjustable headrests.... which We didn't have at all....
The people who sell TMI products may know....
I don't even know whether the seats in 70s VWs sold in Australia were made in Australia [as was the glass] or imported.... Our seats may even be
different from Beetles sold in the UK etc...
I think the 1970 low back seats could have been the same but not 100% sure... but after that....???
My "changes thru the years" states
- 1973 - New Front Seats...
Best of Luck
