HELP fuel pump pushrod guide


the engine in my buggy has the fuel pump off cause the thing that holds the pushrod is broken off i have tried to get it out but so far no luck it is really stuck and a bit brittle i dont want all the broken bits to go in the motor any ideas???

I would mount your electric pump near the tank as they work better at pushing rather than pulling. For a carb, I have a Weber 40 DCNF on mine, it seems to do the job ok.

since my last post i have skimmed through the book that came with the car its a 70's publication "how to hotrod vw engines" and they seem to have a lot of faith in the stock vw fuel pump ( those guys were running low 11's and 12 second quarter mile times with the stock pumps)so now id like get it working again and mayby keep the electric pump in my emergency spares kit for bush trips 64vwmark they also mention the webber 40 dncf and say good things about them so if you hear of one for sale please give me a hollar
