crap in the tank

Every time i drive to near empty, I seem to get crap stuck in th elbow comng out of the tank.
It ends up slowly choking the fuel flow and making the car stall.
Q. How do i seal the inside of my tank.
Q. Can I get an after market tank for the 71 bettle chassis? If so how much who?

Clean 'n' seal

Aintgotit,
Perennial problem it appears. What most do is pull the tank, drop a big length of chain in there, seal the in/outlets after dropping in their favourite solution and slosh it around. The chain dislodges all the crap. Flush etc until happy and then use something like POR 15 Tank sealer (I think it's POR:o). Dunno whether it's less spendy than buying a new tank.
