stinger or wolf efi
hello ,i need a new efi system for my car and have seen two australian systems the ems stinger and the wolf system ,anybody got any experience of
these systems .As far as i can see they both will work great on a flat four ,i suppose it is the ease of use of the software that will swing me from
one to the other .
any views will be greatly appreciated
cheers jon

Microtech? Autronic? Haltech? Motech? Link? and the list goes on.
I use both Microtech and EMS.
They are both very different but are easy to use and tune.
Almost every dyno shop in the country will crow they are a Microtech "specialist"!
Pay your money and take your choice M8.

Basically dude, Ive never heard anybody say anything runs shit unless it was tuned shit in the first place.
You pay your money for the features you need and the name you want on the sticker.

Nah - go with a Delco!
We (my Brother and I) have been using them for around a year now - steep initial learning curve, but really happy with the Delco now.
Just my 2c :P

I used an EMS Dualsport for years. Used with a hand control, not a laptop. For offroad racing in NSW everyone uses either EMS or MoTeC (if you can
afford it!) because theyre super reliable. We've run them through creeks, in dust, more dust and choking dust, while solid mounted to the chassis (I
can see everyone creasing thier foreheads) weve rolled, smashed, taken out trees and other competitors... and it just kept going.
We ran CDI with bosch coil packs and ignitors. Simple and reliable package with good tuning and bang for buck capabilities.
We're gonna update to a later version from EMS soon for more data logging capabilities.
Oh and if you have a drama Peter or Peter at EMS are really helpfull. Highly recommended.
You kids get off my lawn!!!

You can get any brand of ECU to pass the EPA tests - motec or not.
As someone said above, it's all down to how it's tuned, adn the features required - otherwise they're much of a muchness.
But i'd recommend Wolf. Runs my engine converted/turboed rice rocket better than the factory ECU, and would be quite legal if i actually felt like
spending $3500 to pass the full EPA test required for post 1976 cars...

If money was no factor, then you would get a motec. However it is, so the entry level ecu's are what we use and for the most part are more than
adequate for our needs. I use a microtech, people complain about them, although mine works fine. Lacks a little in functions and is a bit outdated
compared to others. I just put an ems stinger in a splitty for Shane, with an ej20t and we had a few dramas with the tune and set up supplied by ems.
It has more functions than the microtech, although alot harder to find a dyno guy familiar with the system. My advice is get whatever one your chosen
dyno tuner is the most familiar with. It will be tuned better and quicker and thus cheaper.
Good luck with your choice....
Matt
