VW Warwick 2007

Hey Guys and Gals,

Entries are now open for VW Warwick 2007.

Go to http://www.vwma.net.au  and click on the banner.

I've already ordered my narrowed and adjustable beam from Custom Bugs & Buses to give the Rat'58 a little more attitude.

Oh yeah - I'll be there for sure again. This time hopefully in a beetle that will be a little faster than a 10.5sec 1/8th!

All good fun and I can't wait!

It would be a good idea for new entrants or those who raced last year and are campaigning a different vehicle, to post/email a photo and specs for the vehicle with the entry form.

This helps the track announcer with info about you and your car as you stage, and gives me the opportunity to profile you in the issues of VWMA that come out before the event.

You're right Wayne - the DC was hard to beat! You knocked me out of the semi's so I can attest to it's consistency (well perhaps more to your consistency as a driver!).

Looking forward to seeing the oval again - fingers crossed no breakages this time around.

I missed last 2006 so I'll be there forsure!!!

I just have to get my ass into gear + build my (to start off with) low-budget drag bug. Hey as long as I'm racing and having fun thats all that matters for now.

It will happen I just have to keep my head down and ass up for the next 8 months.

It will be running a slightly modified type4 2.0ltr, so I'm going to get as much wieght out of the car and out of my beer induced body as I can before then. I guess 8 months of late nights should do it!!!

I look forward to seeing all you guys and gals out there!!!

Best of luck to everybody on the preparation for the event:P

You hit the nail on the head!

I ran a fairly stock 2L type IV in my old blue bug last year and although my best was only 10.5sec, I had an absolute ball....had 26 runs down the strip and got to the semis due to fairly consistent times!

I can't wait!

I have found further inspiration for my drag rat Beetle makeover (although I'll improve on the rear traction shown here).

Begging to come to Warwick

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330074817818&sspagename...

This 1967 1300 Deluxe is on ebay. It has nice panel gaps and is just begging to be bought, sensibly lowered at the front and fitted with Flat4 BRMS and some quality tyres.

It would also like a 1776 with dual carbs, engle 125 cam and a phat boy exhaust for the drags.

Please somebody buy it before I have a moment of finger clicking maddness. It's just 2 clicks to buy it and 5 clicks and a visa number to book a one way flight to Melbourne.

Or I could just stick with plan A and bring the oval up again. Either way I'll be there in something air-cooled.

Hi Alan,

I can't believe you're looking forward to chatting with me again. I'm sure I was talking complete rubbish.

I'm looking foward to lining up against your new oval. I'm sure you'll have something special in it.

My plans are to make my oval a little more cal-look with the addition of IDAs and nose-down attitude.

It's always a pleasure chatting to you CT :kiss

Not to mention it gives me another chance to drool over your oval - ever since I saw it way back at Valla years ago doing the lap dash I've lusted after that polar silver beauty!

Hi Alan,

I can't wait to see that big beast of an engine in the back of your bug. When I saw it at Warwick last year it was in the back of a Commodore.

It would be good to see your car in the eight second bracket at Warwick this year.

If they let me down the track ahead of you can catch up with me then (Boom tish!).

I'm aiming for a 9.0.
