Freakin Rain!!
Feelin' the rain Sydney siders???
I sure am, so much that i've got about an inch of water sitting in my floorpan!! I've checked it over and can't seem to figure out
where it's coming from. It's only on the passenger side though... any hints??
Any help would be great.

Bet you anything it is coming down the A channel from the front - like inside the boot area. The leaks onto the floor out the hole down the bottom,
behind the carpet.
Either leaking down the antenna hole, bonnet seat or windscreen

I had this problem in an old bug of mine but trust me there was more than an inch of water  Took me hours to first scoop it out and then use fans and sponges to get it perfectly dry.
Problem was that it was getting into the door but the hole where it was meant to run out was blocked, so it overflowed into the car.

also you have to be carful not to shut ur seat belts in the doors as it causes them to leak a little ( found out the hard way last night) |

If your windscreen seal is leaking at the bottom corners it will drip down the defroster vents on the inside and into the heater channel, causing the
water to exit through the warm air vents in the foot well.

i just pulled the windscreen on my kombi and found a good way to waterproof the car. USE A TARP, not a drip of water anywhere

Front corner most likely, but another possibility is the rear side window, leaking in rubber and down in behind panel

This happens in my '71 Bug. So I drilled a 10 mm hole at the lowest point to let the water out. Underneath the floor pan I rivoted and siliconed
a rubber flap (cut from an inner tube) so no water can come up when driving forward. It is sealed from the front and slightly open at the back. It
lets water out but will close with water pressure comming up from the road, (creek) etc. It's like a oneway valve, kind of. Does this make sense?

STOP Windscreen & rear window leaks
Good one about the one way valve.. very ingenius..
There are 3 holes under the windscreen rubber at the bottom corners, so that if the rubber leaks the water won't sit under the rubber and eat
away the metal..
What I have done to all My VWs over the years is, I pour-spray fish oil under the top of the windscreen rubber and let it run down under the rubber
and down thru the 6 small holes.. .. later on, I block up the 6 holes with silastic (or similar)
from under the bonnet.. and a bit more fish oil.. No more drips..
MOST IMPORTANT .. this has to be done with the metal and under the rubber perfectly dry.... Do the same with the fish oil to the rear window
rubber...
Use plenty of good quality fish oil... Best I have found is "Motorpro" from auto one.

A few years ago, during the summer, We had heavy rain from a storm, and I had a sunshield across the windscreen, held on by the ends being jammed in
the doors... well , the sun shield collected the rain and bought it into the car....
I hadn't expected the rain....
