central locking in a kombi


just got a central locking kit for my birthday, i think i can work out how to fit it to the front doors, but im not sure how to or whether it can be dont to the slider and rear hatch? any suggestions? Colin?

i got a question actually where did you get it from to fit a kombi ?? or is it just the normal ones ??

Yeah mate, I know how to do it, but I won't be divulging any secrets until I've finished it. Unfortunately, it's one of those 'between other things' type of projects. :(

I'm sure you'll be able to work the front doors out by yourself, but make sure that the actuator doesn't get in the way when you wind the windows down. The back doors aren't so important, which is part of the reason why I haven't done mine yet. They involve quite a bit of work fabricating brackets and modifying locks. :o

What sort of kit did you get? Mine was cheapie from Jaycar which works ok but had to be set up absolutely spot on to overcome the resistance in the locks.

parents got it for me actually, probably a cheapie, brand is Freeway. i think i can see a possible way to fit to the slider - attach to lock/unlock sliding switch with modified bracket, would that work?
