I've only seen a Ford Capri V6 into the Square shaped kombi's. It was a south african conversion and had a specially made bellhousing that bolted to
the gearbox so there was no need for adaptor plates, and the ford clutch and pressure plate can be used.

Indian Automotive in Penrith knows about this sort of thing as well.
There was a bloke on another forum http://www.vanagon.com who lived in NZ and he had
done it. All I can remeber is he said it went like stink, but understeered like nothing he had ever known.

Trying to picture block and box.
Would there not be some kind of drive issue here.
Manual or Auto?
Go the subi option, closest thing to a WBX engine and minimal mods needed to complete fitout.
Keep the steering and the propulsion seperate . Still a Kombi...
It's all good, until it's bad, i suppose

Neat fit; modify the frewall or what is the firewall? How much clearence on the underside of things
I still say if VW or someone in Oz could manufacture a 2.5+ltr WBX motor for same cost as 2 - 3.3ltr subi option i would go the WBX i would go that
way, but as subi costs much less and is as close as it gets it makes sense.
I was morally against heart transplant VW2Subi but it makes sense. you can buy a whole subi for the price of a re produced WBX engine.
If my T3Syncro engine(when i start it for the first time) is up the shit i aint rebuilding the VW block.
