Suby engine conversion into type 3 wagon
Hey guys,
I'm contemplating having a suby engine conversion done to my 66 Squareback that I purchased this weekend, but personally wouldn't feel capable of
doing the work.
Is there a workshop in Melbourne capable of doing a good job at a fair price? Has anyone in Melbourne done this conversion? If not Melbourne, I'd
certainly be willing to take a roadtrip, but would prefer Vic as engineering and rego issues would be more easily solved locally.
Any leads would be much appreciated.

Steve give Custom Off Road a ring here in Brisbane as they can help you out in regards to a complete kit for this conversion with probabley the only
item needing a complete fabrication in victoria being the radiator to the body which i don't think would be that big a problem as it would probaley
fit easily into the spare wheel area with holes cut through the front for air flow etc

shame you're not in perth. billy did one at volkswest, it was a piece of art!! lots of work but very well worth it! brilliant.

Thanks for the lead for Custom Off Road...really after someone to do the work though rather than just a kit.
Pat..just thinking about it mate. Dont really want to spend thousands more fixing a rooted engine...

So buy the kit and have someone install it its worth it. you will

Its not that difficult... working through the process will also enable you to pull the motor etc when you blow your first box up.
Plenty of advice on this site to help you through the fabrication side.
