Day of the Drags Eastern Creek

I was at Day of the Drags today at Eastern Creek. I noticed that the black Dino's Pizza Bug was running. He was consistent all day with about 7 passes in total. Starting with a 14.245 pass @ 92.77 mph to blown out the cobwebs. The car managed to get down to a 13.062 Pass @ 99.38 mph. That makes for one quick pizza delivery.

The rodders all thought he was the pick to run against. That was until they started racing. This beetle held its own and won some respect.

Dino cracked his gearbox at Warwick last year and he told me that the boys at CBB - Custom Bugs and Buses built him a new one. The boys from CBB where also out there in support of Dino and the rest of his crew.

The new Volksrod that has been mentioned in that area of the forum was at the track as well. A very clean well built package. It received alot of notice amongst the rodders and lots of favorable comments. Its good to see respectable cars being built and being received as such. This thing sure sets a standard.

Well done Fellas for a good day out!

Gday chris

Mate,Mike at Custom Bugs and Buses has this car sorted now. It is flying and leaving the start line with no problems. The first run out we just took it easy and run a 14.245 @92.77mph.We had 7 runs on the day all averaging around the 13.4 sec the best run of the day was 13.062 @ 99.38mph(159.95km) 60ft 1.798.I had an absolut ball.A big thanks goes to Mike and the crew from Bugs and Buses who look after my car and are doing a great job at it... Ill get the time slips posted asap..

cheers Dean...

No this was our 3rd year. We're are already working on next years bigger again event! It's for Rods, Classics and early Muscle and limited invited others.

We're also planning another meeting. Old School Skids that will be much much larger, Front Engine Drgasters, Nitro, Gassers and some seriously fast hot rods.
