1974 L bug (AR 18 CL). This is a really good example of a nice straight beetle. I love it very much, but my partner and i are getting married and need
the money. This is the 4th beetle ive owned (5ht VW) and it is by far the cleanest, quietest, smoothest, most powerful (as powerful a a stock beetle
gets) I've owned or driven.
While not everything is original, what has been changed has been done well. I've owned the car for about a year and all i've done is change fuel
filter and replace the battery. I've had no need to do much as the previous owner spent alot of time and money on it, and i only drive it once a
month or so (the rest of the time it is parked, on carpet, in my garage). What i do know is that it was resprayed a few years ago, and the paint is in
very good condition. I've found no rust in the car, with the previous owner having patched floor pan under the battery (very good job). It has new
upholstery, and dash has been covered in grey leather (look alike i think). It has an immobiliser and remote central locking, a feature not found on
many beetles, and a custom hood opener (not original glove box one. Seat belts and steering wheel are original, which i'm not sure is a good or bad
thing (steering wheel cracked). It is a push button start as seen in photos.
Engine is standard, but goes better than all other beetles ive owned. It sits well at 110km/hr on highway, and pulls well on a moderate up hill in
third gear. Gear box is ok, not the best i've had, but can still easily shift into all gears.
I honestly think this is a beautiful beetle, and had ideas of keeping it for a long time, but plans change. Rego is short (23 Oct 2008) but i can get
a pink slip if required. When i normally see beetles on the net for prices like this i usually don't think they are worth the price tag, but i think
this one does justify the price. Hope you agree.
