Is it possible to find an unknown CB?
I might have stumbled across a CB in a farmyard shed, looks like its been there since the start of man kind but cant be sure if its a CB or not just
yet, (Eyes could be playing tricks..) as its quite a way off the road. My question is: Is it possible to have stumbled across an unknown CB? It
doesn't seem to be on the registra and its not listed on this site.....

Yes
there would still be country buggies out there somewhere
most probably rusted to pieces
as they filled with water and had cracks in the metal etc...
Most were used like utes tractors or trucks
and just left when they stopped....

You can be rest assured that there are CBs out there that haven't seen the light of day as far as the CB Register is concerned.
And probably never will.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't go "CBing" to see if you can discover some rarities.
The more the merrier!
And on top of that...........you may wind up with one!
Cheers!

Steve

I think there are many still about...
hopefully a few have been shedded all these years...
as farmers usually leave things with all the other pile of things that don't go... outside in the weather..
if it doesn't still work it doesn;'t belong in a shed....
hopefully there are still a few in sheds or in the dry areas
of our country...

Guys,
They are still out there.......
They keep popping up on the Register and only two weeks ago I was advised of two new ones down in the Vic Mallee. Both vehicles are owned by the same
guy, one and a half (running gear) in town and one on a property (body only) he owns. Both vehicles are sitting outside but as the Mallee is very dry
the bodies are restorable.
The guys wont part with them. His favourite statement is "they dont eat much" and together with the other 50 or so odd vehicles of all makes and
condition he does not have a vary large food bill. They will sit there until he falls off the perch and then (hopefully) no go to the crushers.
Needless to say he is "going to restore the best one and use the other for parts."

I'm up in Rockhampton, Central Queensland and I've heard there are a couple owned by a person who lives in a town 100km from where I live. I've got
people who live in that town trying to track them down but no luck yet.

I've recieved pics for two more CB's, apparently both owned by the same guy in NSW. I dont have any details, but if anyone recognises them or knows
the owner I'd love to get the KO numbers for the Gallery.

Wow, more "finds".
Graham's gallery and this forum have been a real moving force in flushing out more CBs.
I have to wonder what is going on to have the front end all chained and hoisted up with a fork lift. Looks like lots of water in the
background......maybe more like flooding????
The second cb pic: looks like a fiberglass top that still may be in fair shape.

Steve

I dont recall having seen either of these before so they may not even be on the Register. A couple of interesting points- twin wiper motors, looks
like original exhaust mufflers and look at the chunk on those tyres even though they are not sitting on CB rims.
Bet a few peoiple would like that fibreglass hardtop.
Did you follow up with the guy for KO numbers.? I am happy to pursue.

The water and mess was apparently from cleaning all the rubbish out of it that the rats had been collecting in there for their nests.

Yikes!!! That must have been one hell of a mess!
The pans and the bottom of the tunnel look to be in pretty sad shape, but oddly enough the body doesn't look that bad.
I'd say the business sign could definitely be an excellent clue to finding out more about this CB.
Those are citrus crate boxes in the background.
Now we know the chassis #......the KO # shouldn't be difficult if the lead about the business turns up someone who is cooperative and willing to talk
and be helpful.
This should keep Graham busy for a while!
Good find!!!

Steve
