"F" motors

I was perusing the ads at Samba today.........and was somewhat stunned to see this ad offering.....right here in Indiana.

I have zero, zip, nada knowledge of what other VW models "F" motors were installed in, but none the less, it got me to thinking about the missing stock mill in "The Memphis CB".
Maybe not a matching number scenario, but something that certainly might work in a near resto to stock.

Regards,
Steve

Hi

F was 1300 single port fitted to our 1300 deluxe Beetles and CBs, I'm pretty sure that motor was used world wide. The 1500 had an H code.

Second that - F for Aussie 1300 single ports, and H for the 1500's (at least in Beetles).

Not sure what a G motor was... but in the timeline the Type 3 1500 was developed between the two, so maybe they got a G serial number ???
