091/002. hfgs ?s on bulletproof trans
hi, if a 091 trans is used, a spacer plate of 8mm is needed with the intermediate housing, is this correct? then both trans are the same
length......... ? who makes the spacers? is the spacer the same as the strenghening plate, if not is the strenghtening plate required regardless?
sorry to sound such a novice, but thats why im always asking. thanks

I am not sure if anyone makes a comercially available spacer in 8mm.
The few I have seen were a specially made one-off item.
It is used because the 091 intermediate housing from the factory is thicker than the 002 because of the 091's wider gears.
I am not aware of anyone making the type1nose cone conversion yet for the 091(only 002).
The main reason for a "strengthening plate" on that end would be the mount,
but a steel plate sandwiched between the main case and bellhousing may be worth doing in an off-road race situation.

Damn, that could be a problem, I didn't realise that. I just thought that the 091 was stronger hence the one to go for, didn't know the 091
couldn't have the T1 shift setup.
