rubber bonnet thingies


used some poxy cheap rubber bonnet retainer thingies on the baja.

sun has killed them in two short summers.

who/where has some decent rubber bonnet clip things for me.

Rubber Bonnet thingies


Hey, i saw some of those bonnect clips in a carravan parts place, they use them on pop top campers.

It'll be a little bit of work putting the posts in but if you are having issues with the rubber bonnet clips, use Dzus style clips - they are steel and will last forever. I am in WA and I've seen them at Marlows for about $25 for 2.

Having said that, my brothers baja had rubber bonnet clips that lasted 5 years, I guess its just pot luck trying to find them though. If you cant get anything better than the cheapies, use armorall or something like that on them regularly to protect the rubber.

I got a set from a raceing place at Auburn in NSW. Can't remember the name of it but I'm sure they advertise in AutoAction and the like. Used them on the Kombi for over 5yrs and it was always outside (too tall for garage) had no problems at all.
