Porsche style fans
I’m thing of using a Porsche style fan on my 1600 buggy to improve the air flow to the heads. Is anyone else running this set up? Is there much
improvement over standard set up? Do you have problems with it? What do you think about them?

is the engine a 1600 ??? a porsche fan shroud is unecessary for anything short of a huge turbo motor. the stock doghouse can handle up to about 2.3L
size kinda heat

I agree - they are good for BIG motors but not a 1600
You can get a 11? and 5 blade fan - maybe if you REALLY wanted the "look" a 5 blder will not over cool.
No shroud cools as well as a VW shroud

The kits arearound $1200 or so last time i checked.
The Porsche Alternaoyer is the expensive bit, If you can find one, as the Porsche guys dont like selling them to VW people for some reason.

it is just for a 1600, but a buggy which seems to run a bit hot. thought a Porsche style fan mite make it run cooler.

everyone I know that has a buggy is running a doghouse including blokes with type 4 motors mind you they are running external oil coolers but do agree
with everyone else it is an unnecessary expense.

Thanks for the advice I probably should look at an external oil cooler first. Where do they mount then out off harms way on a buggy?

Have you flushed out the existing cooler and checked that the cooling fins on the motor are all clean? It could be that you can get it cooling
properly without spending heaps of money. It's worth checking first anyway.
