Boof's wrx bug finally back on the road.

After a 2 year body swap and numerous final improvements the bug is back as my daily driver.

Still has old motor in it with about 220hp at the wheels. I didnt want to run full boost as the motor is getting on. New forged piston 2002 motor will be done in a month or so....did someone say 70hp NOS kit and 25 pounds of boost?

Now has Nissan silvia radiator( works too well had to block most of it off), custom alloy tank, improved air intake, improved exhaust, still running air to air intercooler which is even colder now with bigger rear gaurd scoops...and most importantly a nice rebuilt box thanks to Dave Butler.

Am driving it from Pennant Hills area to Bondi Junction every day so i hope to see a few of you guys about.

Matt

Ill take some pics and post them in the next few days.

Just spent the day modifying the carpet kit i got to cover the relocated 2 piece firewall and around the different seat mounting points. I also had some dynomat extreme that i stuck in the rear of the car.

Between the engine and the albins gears, it is alot more pleasant to drive with some interior to soften the noise.

Looks like I will need some new tires as the current ones have sat for so long, although 80% tread, and have gone a bit hard. You can just feel it breaking traction ever so slightly through second and third under boost.

I just need to find someone to run it at the creek for me one Wed to see how it goes. At 135kg's there is a good 55kg of excess weight to strip just from changing drivers.

Will keep you posted....

are you going to bring it to Warwick this year? I'd like to pick your brain about some items left on my project.

I would like to make the trip, and have the new engine finished to make it worth the run.
