Out of curiosity, i know it doesn't affect me and my setup, but for swing axle, (i would imagine its absolutely same principle as this) but... how do you go about the wheel bearings being higher than the gearbox itself?

seeing that they are lubed with the transmission oil rather than the separate gease and seal setup like on an IRS?
Is there a sealed bearing conversion or sumfin? I have always wondered thats all... but anywho!

btw though Joel, another good write up mate!

most of these people running slammed swingers with 300degrees neg camber will tell you that they oil runs up the tubes every time they go round a corner

im sceptical but i have heard people talking on thesamba about using sealed bearings

Excellent write up and the timming is spot on. I just sat my body back on yesterday after doing a full body rebuild and a IRS conversion to the floorpan, only problem I have is I never had a standard height to start working with and when I put the torsion bars in I have set them way to high. I will need to take them out and start again.

wait till you have the engine back in and all the car back together
you will be amazed how much it will settle

mine with a 1 spline drop and no engine sat higher than that
