Currently @ 810.00 USD = 927.539 AUD
Reserve not met.
I wonder what that might be???
Interesting note: the listing is actually on eBay US.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=18040988908...
Looking for a Yank sale it seems......
The way the US economy is at the moment, and with the unfavorable exchange rate for this side of the Big Pond, I don't find that a likely
prospect.
1 USD = 1.14511 AUD - 1 AUD = 0.873278 USD
My guess it will be sold within Oz......if it sells at all.
Regards,
Steve

These country buggys should be worth a stack of money due to there low numbers made. Not sure why they dont fetch the big $$$.
Listing a car on US ebay lets x1000 more people view the item than listing on Aust ebay. Also, not everyone in the USA is effected by poor economy, i
sold a barn door kombi to a guy in texas only 3 weeks ago. And he flew over 1st to inspect it!!

I would say you were most fortunate in your sale to a US buyer recently.
There will always be people who are largely unaffected by downturns in the economy. That's true both in the US and Australia. But the economy is
largely stagnant here. Lots of folks have lost 50% or more in their stock portfolios and their retirement funds. Many have lost houses or are now in
foreclosure. We have the highest unemployment figures in the last twenty five years. Discretionary spending has shrunk. If you do have resources to
play around with and invest in toys and other collectibles, now is an excellent time. But for the average enthusiast here, most everyone has pulled in
their horns, big time.
I agree that an eBay US listing broadens the potential buyer market.....no doubt about that. But any Yank who might be interested in such a CB or
other vehicle imported from Oz, is going to be much less inclined to jump in when the exchange rate is now 87 cents as opposed to the 60 or so cents
it was for a considerable period of time. The situation favors Aussies very nicely however in their purchases here.
Current bid: 1,525.00 USD = 1,740.57 AUD
Reserve not met.

Steve

Craig,
Is this CB on the Register?
What is the KO #?
What ever happen to the other one that Damo started on and you took back?
Remember the thread about that that got deleted?

Graham,
If it is the same CB, see if you can save the pics from the eBay ad to file. I can't seem to do a thing with them.
eBay has changed something. I used to be able to save almost any eBay pic to file. Either I've gotten dumber, or the security and technology has put
up some new barriers.

Steve

Trouble with that thing is that all the hard to find bits aren't there. You'd get it to the US and then what? That chassis is not CB (see the jack
points) in spite of his "this is a matching numbers car" claim. No steering wheel, no horn button, no seats, no back tray, no front bumper, no
windscreen or wiper motor, no air cleaner, no front end, no correct ratio gearbox, no exhaust, holes cut in the side panels. It's been parted out
and now he's selling the last part, the body. And who said they don't get the big $$rustybug, have a look at the price now, even with all that
missing.
Cheers
Tony

Tony,
Very well stated.
All the more reason it will never find a home in the US despite the eBay US listing.
If an Aussie needs a body.....OK. I can see that.
There are a couple of CB pans out there with correct running gear to make this a more accurate restoration.
I'm all for that!
Otherwise this is a roll of the dice.......
Happy bidding.

Steve

Please keep your negative comments to yourself.
You are wrong, "this thing" as you so nicely describe it has the original body and chassis. The jack points come on new pan halves, and were removed
before final paint. So, its no "claim"as you sugest, its fact. Are you sugesting i am telling lies??
Everyone thinks they know everything. This forum doesnt need hecklers.

Thanks for clearing that up Decked. Not suggesting you were deliberately telling porkies. The eBay add gave no indication how well informed the
seller was and therefore anyone seeing it would immediately presume that they didn’t know that CBs had no jacking points on the chassis. One option
could be to explain the anomaly in the add so there was no doubt as to the integrity of the statement. I don’t know everything, but I know a bit,
so keep your shirt on and we’ll all just keep enjoying our country buggies. Lots of things are “things”, apologies for any offence. Congrats on
the sale by the way.
Cheers
Tony
