exhaust sounds great!
did you fit the tacho yourself?? im thinkin i might need one and was wondering what sort of installaion is required. i was told the aftermarket ones
like yours just feed off the coil pack?? is this right? anyway just give a quick run through of what you did to hook it up if you get a spare minute..

Yeah everything to it ive done which i enjoy telling people.
Well with this one it was bit different than just a tacho cause it has othr gauges in it.
BUt basically the tacho has a ground or earth wire whih i just crimped a spade terminal on and i put it into the erath block near the fuse block,
sorry i dont have pic but if you look near the fuse block youll see what im talking about.
The next wire is the 12v wire, it just goes to wherever there is power when the key is on, but when there is no power when the key is off.
Next is the signal wire which goes to the negative side of the coil.
I was lucky and when mine had no carpet i ran a heap of wires and taped each end so had some ready for my gauges etc. Other than that its easy.
On anothr note my exhaust set off its first car alarm today, didnt even mean too.

My Beetles With New Seats
Okay, update time.
So i bought a set of front seats out of a Suzuki Swift Gti Off ebay and they got here thursday morning.
Went racing on saturday with the stock seats and got home and then this mornign i was down at the shop and was putting the new ones in, a bit of
cutting later and welding they were in. We ended up welding the Swift rails to the VW rails and using both sets of sliding mechanisms. But because of
the cutting we did on the passenger swift seat rail when i went to weld it back to make it neat i ende up welding the two pieces of track together, So
drivers side moves on both whie passenger moves on only VW. They are really comfy and now ive got some seat covers on em. Ill get some photos in the
morning.
Ive also got myself some carpet and made a new speaker encllosure so that the subs are hard up against the back of the back seat and ive got some
fully hectic neons hooked up to a flasher relay so they flash and i also got some mini thermo fans on each end to blow air into the box the cool the
amp and subs etc on hot dayd. All i gotta do is carpet it.
IM now looking for some rims to buy on advice from Borris. Buy the rims and see where they fit compared to the gaurds and then im going to buy brakes
to fit the rims on. Then norrow my beam the desired amount and add adjusters and drop spindles.
Once thats all done itl probably come off the road for couple weeks and get some bits tidied up but until then itll still be my daily.
Stay posted for updates and piccies

Hi
You will find track days much better with seats holding you in properly.

Dude that exhaust could almost be mistaken for a subi motor because of the deaper boxer sound. What exhaust is it. To me it looks like extractors with
a super cheap cannon ????

Thats excatly what it is, Its a header with a cheap cnnon on it. Only give away is the ticking of the VW engine. But i can sit at traffic lights and
rev the engine a bit and sounds like a subi.
Best bit was its not even hard to make just loose a fair bit of ground clearence.

Also will be stripping the interior for the day.

Hey,
I've was in contact with you via sms a few weeks ago if you recall.
I'm still considering your car but like I said it's a little out of my price range.
I might give you a call anyway one day soon to have a chat.
Cheers
