Seat Adjustment is crazy hard

Hi there,
Adjusting the seat position in my squareback has always been ridiculously hard, just wondering if this is the norm or is there some way to make them work smoother.
Thanks
Pete

Just a thought mate, have you had a look at your seat guide rails. In between the seat and the seat runner, there is a plastic guide (for want of a better word) that acts as a bearing and allows the seat to 'glide' easily on the runner.

When I pulled the seats out of my Notch, these guides were almost non-existent.....might be the same with yours.

Electricmonk had some of these....check this post: http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=80798

Hope you can sort something out mate

Thanks, Paul!
I have new ones that I bought from ISP west, but it's still really stiff. I wonder if maybe my rails are somehow bent?

Mine are exactly the same. Moving the seat rails requires the full force of pushing with both legs braced against the floor and your back firmly against the seat. I got it adjusted to my preferred position just fine, but it is too inconvenient for others to move it if they are ever lucky enough to be allowed a drive! Haven't looked into fixing this yet as it doesn't really bother me on a regular basis.

and what about some good ole vaseline?
when i get a car or even a donor i oil every bolt nut and screw days b4 working on it.

30 yrs of grit and the odd pencil or 5 c coin can jam the works on the seat rails very soon

Cool, I polished up the channels on the seats and coated the rails with vaseline and now they work great! I guess they were just a bit clogged.
Thanks
