Beetle engine code V?

My 67 parts car has a good running engine in it, apart from knowing a 67 would have a 1300 in it from the factory I have no idea on what the engine in it is now?

The engine number starts with V but I cannot find any reference to this code number on the net?
Anyone have a idea? It does look factory too.
I now suspect it is a 1500 as the car now has 12 volt and a very bodgy 12 converson?

Cars

1300 Deluxe parts car
1966 Mustang

1997 Subaru Outback (Wife's car)
And owned 40+ cars and still lots more to come :)

Could be Victorian Police

Some un-numbered cases had numbers stamped on there by the Police department when registered

is it single port or dual port heads?

67 1300 deluxe is a classic in my opinion.... you gotta preserve it....

Whatever this engine is, its going under my 59/68 bitsa as is with just a new stainless exhaust.
Yep definatly a single port.
Runs and idles great, no blowby, just needs a tapet adjustment.
Will enentually build up a 1914 TP to replace it. (already have the TP engine)
I will know more when I remove the motor from my parts car to see if its a 1300 or 1500.
