Baja mod time, suby, IRS ............
hi all i got the poor old 1970 Baja rego-ed.
NOW ITS TIME FOR FUN.
so far i have fitted IRS and box from a 73 super then fitted a Subaru EA82 1800 with 2 liter clutch n pressure plate (what a pain in the ass that was)
now i am modifying the front and fitting a radiator

what was the most challenging bit of the fit in the rear?

69' baja: kombi box, thing spindles, irs, disc front, type 3 rear drums, 2 inch lift kit, 31x10 rears.
New engine in process: 94mm p&bs, 74mm C/w chomol Crank, 35.5x39 SP heads, turbo. Wierd combo, hopeful torque monsta!

the fact that i did it with the shell on was a hassle now im still on the radiator and sorting the cooling lines the kit i used was sposed to be for a
2 litre kombi but i got it in a fair bit of grinding /clearancing was needed and had to mod the starter to fit

Gday with the starter problem In my 180B powered baja an I used auto starter it clears the kombi pressure plate & is slightly stonger turning
over. I have just moved the radiator to the front and used 32mm poly pipe for hose front to rear working really well

yeah i thought of polly pipe but i would smash it at least if i bend the exhaust pipe water lines they should not leak (fingers crossed)

gday all it is running nicely made my self a short shift and wow i think i over did it i added 30 mm into the shifter below the pivot and i shortened
the throw by about 60 % 1st to 2nd now is about 65mm made up my rear cage it works n looks good will fit a tow bar me thinks all gauges now are
working car runs very cool so far indeed i cant get the rad to warm up whilst moving i need to duct the front so it doesnt come howling in through the
glove box hole and around the gauges.
have started the baja softop onto suzuki running gear this weekend pics and all will start another post for it
