one thing worth mentioning about the bugtech, its a great height BUT it gets very close to the dash since its not bent, perhaps a kombi based shaft
cut down would be more accomodating, i believe sides has an issue with glove/ rollcage padding under the dash interferance in 1st & 3rd
i did come across one pic of a beetle one that was bent, looked to be in an L bug - not listed online like that though....

I have a Berg 14" extra bend 40% reduction in my type3. It's one of the best things I ever got for my car. I've had 12" straight 40% and a 12"
bent 60% over the last few years but the 14" is by far the best for me.
If you have a type3 or a 55? to 67 beetle with the bent gear stick standard and have long legs and have the seat right back and find yourself
stretching for the gear stick. This is the gear stick for you.
The 14" 40% reduction is sporting and great for every day but not race. I think 60% would be good if you want to go a little more toward race.
I opted not to get the knob because I decided the biggest advantage to a gear stick with a knob is the 3rd back to 2nd change and with the reverse
button at 2 o'clock (like the pic in a previous post.) I'd be pushing the button in and going into reverse.
I was thinking moving the button to 4 o'clock may be better?
How did you guys find the knob?

I've got a question about the Scat dragfast. It has the look I want and the Hot VW & Volksworld magazine reviews say it is pretty good for the
price so I put it on my Xmas list with the phone number of suppliers. My lovely wife tried to buy one today but they told her it was more a left hand
drive shifter and not real comfortable for a RHD. I thought they would be LHD/RHD neutral as the reverse lockout is on the front. Can anyone with one
tell me how they feel in the hand? Thanks

cant comment on the stock handle on it as i changed mine to a ball. works fine on the sbug.

Thanks Barls, The T handle looks similar to the pics of right hand drive T handle shifters like Empi & Berg so I thought they would be right.

from memory the handle is slightly tapered towards one end but its and easy change.

bug-tech shifter
Who has used (and abused) their bug-tech shifter?
They seem to offer a lot more options now on their facebook site ( https://www.facebook.com/raceshifter ). For example - shorter / longer stick; straight / bent stick; 40% or 60% reduced
throw.
I have a 63 Karmann and have just put in some Corbaeu seats ( http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/-p-150715940.html ). Very nice. They have given me about an extra 150mm in leg room -
I got long legs. So I need a shifter with some bend.
How do you find that reverse lock out action?

A mate has one in his Bus.... I've driven it a bit... It's nice, but personally I think it looks too bulky.... It works well but.
Ill stick with my Hurst, EMPI Hurst knockoff, Berg and VS Black Mamba.
