Ratio Rockers

Would i be able to bolt on 1.25:1 ratio rockers onto my stock cam 1600 without any adjustment apart from valve clearances?? Read on Samba that you can and you can't! Just trying to put a bit more oomph in the 1600.
Thinking about port matching too, any one any experience of this??

1.4 rockers on a stock cam works much more betterer. Check the geometry quickly, it's easy, you might need to shim up the posts. While you have the heads off to throw 60thou shims under the valve springs (don't be frightened! It's easier than meccano), scrounge up another couple of hundred for new, NICE valve seats and compression in the 8:1 area. You can just do the rockers if you want though.
1.4s, seats, compression, add a good tune up on the 34pict3, and you're about 20% up on a stocker.
