I'm sitting here looking at my '70 Baja through the rain wishing I could start on it. Please post your progress to inspire me.

Okay well first up i regret to inform you that i only have one picture of when i just started so thats unfortunate but never mind alright so i thought i might start off by telling you what i am aiming for but a little more in depth. So i want to build a first car this will be my first car and also my first VW. I bought one VW beetle and a baja body however the pan didnt turn out so great so we bought another VW which was well in good nic. So now i have a pan and a motor in pieces. I also have a box full of EFI bits which i am writing another thread about however i will go into some depth of it here. So anyway i am going to build a 1914 cc engine which im not going for much horsepower but more torque as this is probably a little more important. Now the case is already bored for 94's so thats already done however im yet to do the full rebuild (its all in bits everywhere) the pan which needs a new left quater i have to replace and fix a little here and there. Now the pan is in fairly good nic despite the fact its got a crapy back quater. The pan also already has a type 3 back end. I will post some photos of what i have now and tomorrow. The efi part i am using a setup off a mexican beetle and using megasquirt 2 to run it all. This car will not have a turbo as i will not be able to drive it if it did so anyway with all that said heres some pic's. On a side note if anyone is in Queensland and having to deal with these floods i send my sincere hopes that it all turns out okay for you.

Please do post reports and pictures on how your build is going. Start with some pics of the gear you already have. Be interesting to see and learn as you go along with your build.
