everyone say HI to Brad, as this weekend he wont be attending Nambucca, due to work commitiments.

However he does have one advantage.... He will be sitting on a beach in the middle of the Pacific some where.... Dreaming in Valla while suckin on a coldie.

Bad luck mate next time Hey.,

Let me tell you that Island Time Sucks when we build to Australian Time Lines...

Yep the locals think we are crazy working 10 hr days 6 days a week. Would be 7 but the locals don't let you DO ANYTHING on a sunday.

Yep

Yep, my current employer has seen fit to allow me to go to uni and finsh of my degree and then they will no doubt find a job which has nothing at all to do with my qualifications and give it to me.

Go to love the Government

I know that your 100 percent right there

Train you to specialise in some area then make you work in a totally unrelated place or job. Typical goverment

Thought I could see army greens in the pics

Would imagine the Tongans go to church Sundays and then have the family feast after, like the Samoans

Island time is great if your on holiday and wanting to get away from our pace of doing things. It can be very frustrating for some:alien

Must admit I love their chilled attitude and friendliness but then not had to work

Do they play lots of Reggae in their bars?:beer :D

So what are you building? Wharehouse?

Hi

Well yeah it is moving along quite well. the structural steel is all up and we have begun the internal light steel frame walls. The external block walls are at about 80% and the structural glass arrives today for the foyer. We have about 16 working days left until we leave. Prior to leaving we need to achieve lock up which basically means the windows and doors are in, eternal walls finished, water and electrical are at rough in and the roof complete. We should make it but like everything in the building game it will be tight. All up we will have spent about $1 550 000 on her and she is rated to withstanding cyclonic winds and earthquakes. The design is such that it has its own ups and back up generator so even power outages will not effect her.

By the end of the project it will have taken us just under 60 days from slab height to lock up. With some luck it will be the last project I have to manage overseas and I look forward to spending some regular time in Australia.

Pic is from 24 Aug 03 but you get the idea.

Lookin' great mate :thumb If that's the 24th with now only 16 days left, that's f*#$ing tight alright.
Structural glass?? Interesting. Or is it a none load bearing wall?
I like how you refer to 'it' as 'her' and 'she'
Good luck!
