wrong parts

Did 73 fastbacks come with different distributors? I just want to make sure before I speak with my parts supplier who sent a taller cap, rotor, and leads without right angles at the dissy end.

Hi

There are Australian content distributors and German ones. The aussie ones have a fixed point pivet post on the base plate, the German ones have the pivot post as part of points. So you could get wrong cap and rotor.

Most replacement leads don't have a right angle, make sure you have the sealing boots on them.

I came across the same thing with my 68. I bought just the rotor from a local vw shop and it was a little taller than the original but I did not notice when I was at the counter.

They had the right right one too so no problem in the end.
