Tyres for my Fuchs
Hey Guys and Gals,
So I got a set of Fuchs - the fronts are 4.5 inch x 15, and the rears are 5.5 inch x 15. Now I want tyres.
Any advice on what size is best for the 4.5 inch ones? I'm not worried about the rears as 5.5 inches are easy to source.
I've got no idea what size is best for the fronts . . . and advice would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Old Timer

Hello,
A 165/65/15 would work on 4.5 inch Fuchs.
A 155/65/15 would fit the rim even better, less sidewall bulge.
A 145/65/15, fits too.
I am researching tyres @ the moment too, I have checked the Hankook tyre site - http://www.hankooktyre.com.au/iDrive/
EG: Hankook Optimo K415 or Optimo K715
Hankook, make several narrow 15 inch tyres, that will suit a 4.5 inch Fuchs.
I have no idea, how good Hankooks are, but some guys here on the forum use Hankooks.
I am tyre snob, so I am looking for Japanese or Euro tyres!

Hi Old Timer.
Your post caught my attention.not because of the tyre question but because of the fuchs.I have been plannning on getting a set in the same
measurements but have hesitated because there have been some issues with the wheel nut seat surface on some brands.Traditionallly they should have a
ball seat wheel nut and seat type fitting surface.
Are you able to tell me what your wheels are like and if you bought them here or overseas? Thanks.
By the way I have used Hankook tyres on my 1 tonne ute and the quality was very good.

Hi aircooled10,
Yes I know about the wheel nut seat problem - and I thought that I had that problem, but eventually got the right wheel nuts through Vollks.com.
Wazza was helpful and checked that the nuts he had fitted properly before he sold them to me. He sells the same wheels I already had.
I actually got the wheels through Mick Motors (special order from EMPI), and as I've said, the nuts from Vollks.com. So far so good.
Thanks for the tyre comment, I think I'll give them a go.
Cheers,
Old Timer

Hi Old Timer.
Good to hear that you do have the correct wheel nuts.I spoke to Rohan at Micks' about this problem on the Empi Fuchs.I see that you purchased 5.5 for
the fronts, that's what I plan to use(better wheel clearance).Volks.com advertise 15.5 only as a set. What did you do to get the 4.5s'?Thanks.

hey aircooled
Got the following from Micks (Rohan actually - nice guy).
Was lucky enough to get in on their next container order - Rohan ordered them especially for me.
2 x 4.5 (Front)
2 x 5.5 (Rear)
Yes Vollks only advertise the 5.5 wheels, but Wazza will get 4.5 in if you want them. Don't know price or how long they'll take to get. Maybe CIP1
can help?
hey mr bungle
So they're no good? Why? And what brand would you suggest instead?

Whoops! I read your post as saying "no good" instead of "go good"
