 ADVAN Neova Cup

Hi Everyone,

I'm sick of hauling a second set of wheels around and then changing them at the track when I go racing. I'm going to start competing on the same
tyres I drive on the street with. Besides, the car looks much better on the Porsche Fuchs than the cookie cutters.

Not only that I'm going to compete in the ADVAN Neova cup in the under 2 litre class so I'm not just racing to improve my times; I'll be matching
my times on the leaderboard with people in under 2 litre cars from other track days.

Hopefully the embedded promo video below works. If it doesn't I'll add a link.

Right then. Oil system fixed. ADVAN Neova AD08 tyres fitted. Now I have a nemisis in a Datsun to contend with.

We're looking to do the Circuit Club event at Wakefield Park on 23rd July. I drove the oval to work today and it just got better the more I drove it.
It was fun.

The guy who sold me the running boards said they were a performance accessory. They're light weight Brazilian versions that get even lighter over
time ; )

The only problem with the car at the moment is that it won't start for 3 minutes after you turn it off.

Who knows what the track times will be. I've done too many changes to the car.

The taller ring and pinion could help or hinder it.

The ZF LSD should help. Maybe second gear may be worth a try out of the fish hook?

Replacing 195/50R15 ADVAN A050 GS soft compound race rubber with an ADVAN Neova street/race tyre staggered fitment should be interesting. I'm running
175/55R16s AD07 lotus spec Neovas up front and 205/45R16 Neova AD08s out the back.

I've packed the big sway bar in case the thing now decides to understeer due to the LSD and the stagger.

The IDAs should also be interesting. They go well enough. They sound good. But will they flood in the corners?

I've seen comparisioins between the ADVAN A050 and the Neova. The latter is only about 1 to 2 seconds slower which is pretty good. The Neovas wear
well. I had them on my Jetta for almost 40,000 kms and they were only 60% worn. But they only did 2 track days.

Hey Westi, the muffler you guys tucked away nicely still sounds good (except if you're my neighbours).

Cheers

One more thing.

Check out the wheels. The front ones are polished and the rears are chrome powder coated by Hi Octane in Rydalmere. If the powdercoated ones are less
maintenance I think I might get the others done.

Don't worry. They're wide for a 175. They only just fit on the rim!

Hi CT

I've had good results with peeling the rubber back and treating the running boards to a wire buff and some fish oil, leave them attached where
they're crimped on the edge though. I guess you have important things to worry about.

Wouldn't the 240z be in a different class to you? Or is it competition in the office?

Steve

I don't think I ever get sick of seeing this car... has to be one of the best street/race bugs going in Aus!

Shame it didn't run at the Nats, this cup should be good though!
