EXSESSIVE BLOWBY???.....
Its been 2 months since i last drove the notch.......have just done torsion bar rubbers,shockies,brake lines,balljoints,swaybar bushes,new tyres,bla
bla......handles great again!!...was coming to a realy twisty uphill section doing about 50mph in 3rd gear...as i came over the crest i smelt
burning...pulled over and found more than normal ammounts of oil coming out of the breather....has anyone elce had t his before after hard cornering
uphill??...or did i just kill my motor??....it was dark when i stopped and couldnt see anything...it still runs great as ever....could just be a
random vw thing??....

Does it have a breather that has got blocked??
This happened to my stock 1600 when the breater pipe got blocked. Oil everywhere.
Cleaned it out and all was OK
How old is the motor and what size?

I had this and found the the engine was fuched  
Mine was much worse than yours I guess.

You could have a crankcase full of fuel or you could have overfilled it.

Hey,its an 1835 i had fully rebuilt 10,000k (1 year) ago,ive got dual twin 40s on so no where for the breather to go.....i just used a peice of tubing
and routed it into the chassis at the back near the filler cap..never had this much blow by before.....the oil level is slightly higher than stock
because ive got a full flow oil system and extra oil cooler...think im on 5L??
do these have two breathers Bizzare??....
what happend to your motor vlad01?

either too much oil in the engine....
or
You may have been driving in such a way that the oil was pushed out the breather hose... [common]
I have My breather hose down below the engine and body..
and there usually is a drop of oil on the hose...
I don't know how much comes out... lol

I am assuming you have a type 3 motor.
I have bugger all experience with these.
1835's have a bit of a reputation for blow by with their tinner walled pistons.
The oil level shoundnt be any "higher" just more??
Still should be determined by the dip stick??
You could need more than just the normal breather with a slightly warm motor?
That said - I have a 1916 in a beetle with dual DRLAs and just have the stock breather and no oil spray
You can plumb the breather back into the tops of the carbs and put the system under negative pressure.
That will help a bit

Don't know? it came stuffed at 74,000km.
drank 4-5l of oil in a single 900km trip, ran empty twice and got bearing knock and oil light. the plugs are soaked in oil and my blow by is like an
air compressor lol
Still got plenty of power though? some how?

The oil Level should still be the same on the DIPSTICK...
regardless of the extra sumps or oil coolers...
its whats in the sump that counts

Took it for a drive last night after checking the oil (its like 2mm over the max line after running for 2 mins then checking after it settle for
30secs)........now ive stopped freaking out..the blowby seems average,ive re-routed my breather down and it doesnt have any oil coming out of it
now..i just wont go hard on that stretch of road as much..

Do you have a breather box for the crank case fumes?
as soon as you go past 1600cc you gotta have one.
