I am in Brisbane so can't recommend anyone in Victoria but these panels get replaced all the time. I would also go to someone else if your guy can't do this.

It would not need an engineers report, as you can get original sill panels still. They are available new as a BMW part. You replace an original rusty panel with a new original panel, and there is certainly no engineers report needed. I have probaly replaced about 500 sill panels in my career, including a set of these BMW ones only months ago. Just needs to be done right with the right equipment. Easy job, just takes time.

well if its any help, i can tell you that it doesnt just need "welding" that is a lot of work required for that, i would hit up a restoration shop, cutting, measuring, welding, grinding

type 4 1956 oval build thread anyone?...
