Beetle engine into type 3 ?? I need some help please
hey guys im new here and pretty new to vw's.
i would like to know how hard is it to change a beetle engine to fit a type
3 squareback.

Basically... ALL the tinware has to be taken off...
so You have a bare engine...
I have never done it ..
but My beetle engine was once a type 3 engine... lol
someone on here should be able to held You

What model type 3 is it?
Problem you have is beetle blocks dont have the mounts for the type3 mustache bar or the port for the oil filler/dipstick

it doesnt have an engine in it and ive found a beetle engine that is cheap. im only new to this and im not 100% what year it is i'll post a photo
tonight.

The beetle engine must be the late universal case that hase the provision for the above mentioned oil filler and muontings for the engine support bar.
You will also need all the type 3 cooling system, carbys, exhaust etc etc.
