Diagnostic plug-Chop it?
I want to get rid of the diagnostic plug on my 73 ghia.
As the loom is in the car, I was thinking of just chopping it at the plug and tucking the loom away out of sight.
I'm not sure now that it's such a good idea.
I'm pretty sure all those wires are just sampling other wires for data, but just hacking away blindly ain't my style.Lord knows what could
happen.
Any thoughts?

I got rid of mine when I fitted my old stainless louvered firewall.
It's a bad idea to just chop and leave as alot of the wires there are live and unfused.
Also if the low tension wire from the coil that goes to it grounds out your engine will stop running.
What I did with mine was disconnect as many of the wires as possible.
THe big main feed from the battery can be unplugged at the splitter near the regulator, starter motor wire can be removed, unplug the coil low tension
one etc etc.
The rest are crap like the brake lights and indicators, all i did with them was insulate really well the chopped off ends.
