Now that is one nice looking CUSTOMISED Country Buggy
[not that there's anything wrong with that] lol
note the half round black piece usually reserved for the front spare wheel well on beetles...
A BIG JOB well done.....
I wonder what comments this modification gets from dyed in the wool Country Buggy owners....?
I just love it.... My Personal opinion...
and Left hand drive.. I knew they shipped CKD buggies to Indonesia.. never seen one before... and never thought about them being LHD..

That’s a very nice buggy. When he sorts the wiring on the wiper motor and hides the exhausts up under the guards she’ll be perfect. The doors
& cab are great. Mine will never be that straight

Dong,
Is Jun Ruiz any relation to Wilfred Ruiz who used to be VW and Sakbayan expert before his sad passing.
Wilfred wrote several articles on the Sakbayan.

At Clayton they built 1956 CB units of which 887 unit were made for sale here in Australia. Of the remainder 247 units were exported in RHD Kits (CKD)
to countries like New Zealand, New Guinea and Malaysia. The remaining 822 were exported as left hand drive units and most of these went to the
Philippines to their local importer- DMG. DMG was the VW importer and they assembled the vehicles as Sakbayan through to 1973 ( approx) and some of
the vehicles had IRS rears and 1600cc motors. They also made some body modifications to better suit local conditions including roofs, metal doors with
sliding windows and cut down sills I have seen on some vehicles.
It appears only CBs for sale in Australia were given KO numbers and I believe this was the actual number they appeared on the production line. I dont
think any LHD units had a KO number affixed because they were not fully assembled here in Oz.
Sakbayans did not last well in the Philippines given their wet and humid climate but its good to see them coming out of the woddwork now.
