My camper and 71 fasty
G'day
New to the forum thought I'd post a few pics of our VWs.
I am currently traveling oz with my partner Bon and my son Harper in our 75 sopru camper. We bought the Kombi in Tasmania and I drove it back to
Roxby Downs in SA and I spent a bit of time fixing up wiring and bit of bodywork ( there is still a little bit of rust to cut out when we settle down
somewhere ).
Also added some acc:
Sunvisor
Blind spot mirror
SAAA badge
Raydyot pillar mounted search lamp
Rear safari window
Jailbars
Mooneyes footprint accelerator pedel
Helphos suction spotty
It already had:
Foglights
Elec washer bottle
Intermittent wipers
Wheel chrome rings
1800 And box was rebuilt about eighteen months ago It's had a retrim ( a bit rough but will do for now) Its had a spray job that will do until we
Finnish traveling it's better not to stress about the paint when we quite often go off road.
I also had a small trailer built which I modified so I could put wood panels on the sides and a couple of mat helped me out with the bows and
cover.
Anyway nuff rambling Jimmybay

The 71 type3 fastback
I picked the fasty up from a bloke in Adelaide it had been sitting in his shed for a good part of 16 yrs.
It's got 40,000 miles on the clock i think it's done a bit more than that but his mum owned it from new. Started her up with a bit of help and drove
600kms into the dessert. I replaced the fuel lines as the injectors were leaking at the crimp, put a new VL fuel pump on and she was a daily drive
until .....it happened
It took forty years for a tree to fall at the wrong angle
Before the tree came down

After the demon tree

I cut it with a 1mm and stretched it out best I could so I was able to use it for work

I'll find a pillar to replace it one day and put a sliding ragtop in to get rid of the buckled roof

Cheers mate I'll look him up. The fasty is in SA and we are currently south of Sydney so I won't get a chance to fix it for a while.
