My new pushbike
Just got a melvern star dragster she is a bit rusty but is fully functioning just needs seat padding replaced. I'll be using it to get down the beach
and to the train station. Gunna keep it ratty chuck some new tires on higher bars on and maybe a light and a mirror. Could anyone give me an idea on
an approximate age of this ?

I've been going a little bit crazy as I havnt had a Vw project for three months because we are traveling in the kombi. Not having a garage makes is a
bit hard ;-)
Thought this might keep me entertained.

its not a malvern its too short to be a malvern
heres some pics of some malverns i have

its even shorter looking than the first malverns (which were 69 and the shortest of them) im thinking its an oxford as it has no mounting holes for
the sissy bar
heres my oxford

it could even be a malvern star wildcat (little kids dragster as it has the tiny bars but the no sissy mounting holes are still pointing me at oxford,
put up some pics of the head tube as it should have two holes for mounting the star, there is also no chaingaurd bracket, post up a heap of pics of
it i could tell you for sure with more pics

first was the malvern short in 69 then from 70 on it was the malvern long frames and other brands hit the stores christmas 70 into 71, most the stuff
you find these days is pretty much 71 up as that was when the craze hit hard

Me too! That's just like my bike except for the hand brake (mine is a back brake) and the reflectors on the tuffs. Mine's still hanging in my
Dad's shed will have to dig it out one day and clean it up, wish it was in as good condition as the one in the photo.
edit: Actually now that I have seen the close up photos I can see that the bike is black where mine is a cola sort of colour

Hi
I seem to remember Dragstars being around in the mid 60s in Sydney. A local shop had a similar looking bike called an Oxford Cycle.
I was doing a chemist run in late 60s and early 70s, I fitted sissy bars and ape hangers to my regular Malvern Star, 1971 I got my 1st bug.

pod says "dabbles a little". That's some serious dabbling or a very catchy disease. Brilliant collection and took me back a "few" years in time.

Holy shit main.
Thats a serious collection. Awsome!!!!!
I restored my old mongoose freestyler that i had when i was 14. It was at my mates house under his house.
And for xmas i got a 24" PK Ripper quad angle. Its so nice to ride. Iv also got a serious downhill MB for the Oaks trail. Loads of fun.
If i was rich id be doing what youv done.
