POR15 products available in autobarn beenleigh.

Just a heads up, went in to autobarn beenleigh today to pick up some paint goodies, to see an end stand at the aisle with POR15 products now. wow!

Just putting it out there that the common auto shops are now stocking, well this one anyways. Prices were very exy though. Think it was $69 for litre of the chassis black stuff. I only had a quick look.

If your going there to purchase the product (if in fact any product), do your research on what you want/need first, as the people there are next to useless and have led me astray enough times to count on one hand. But none the less, they always have good product! (i go there for the motorspray products).

Chris.

I thought it was cheap.
Rust Bullet is about $100/litre but it is brilliant.

Is this stuff a one off application? I'm painting my rat panel trying to keep the rust look and old sign writting and a shop told me they would use this stuff then that would be it. Might of said this then a clear coat but sure they just mentioned this stuff.
Does anyone know the difference between this and ankor wax?

I'm used the KBS system on my chasis and it was brilliant. I can't remember the price but I bought the three piece kit (rustklean, rust blast and rust seal) and did it all in the back yard. I stripped the chasis with Brumby disks and a small sand blaster, hit it with rust klean, washed it off (water blaster) and let it dry. It went a little rusty but that just helps the next stage which was rust blast. I applied the rust blast with a spray bottle (I needed another bottle half way through) and you have to keep applying it to keep it wet for around 10 - 40 mins depending on your rust situation. I then went against the instructions and used a cloth soaked in grease and wax remover, instead of a water, to remove the residue. You really have to make sure that you get it off before it dries. Once all the residue is off you can leave it dry and it goes a white milky colour. You can leave it like this for up to 30 days before applying the Rust Seal. I only left mine a day, gave it a light sand, and then sprayed it in the shed. Make sure your wearing gloves and cover everything you don't want overspary on, as once it is on it is really hard to get off, even skin (it took a week and a half). If you want to see how it came up look at my avatar.
