T3 with motor cycle engine

cant find any likes for this. But does anyone know of a T3 that has had a motor cycle engine installed. I know Subies are preferable, but they are being used increasingly in kits and sports cars. they are light and powerful. I think the body might just be too heavy for reliable long term use. 140HP is easily available.

opinions please.

Any relating info would be gratefully received.

thanks

Mark

Cars with motorbike engines look like great fun, but from what I can tell they are almost never quiet or relaxing! All the power is at such high rpm that you will only get the best out of the motor when you're screaming around a track.

There was a buggy in the UK with a motorcycle engine.
I'd love to one day do that.
Key of course is to get the gearing right for the rev power band. :tu: Particularly for a T3 where you don't want to compromise 'down low' output torque to push that weight around.

Maybe compare a dyno chart of the torque curve of the motor cycle engine in question to a subaru engine, and work out what rpm you need the moto engine to be at to have the equivalent torque at cruising speed, or what ratio you would need to match/beat it.

69' baja: kombi box, thing spindles, irs, disc front, type 3 rear drums, 2 inch lift kit, 31x10 rears. :tu:
New engine in process: 94mm p&bs, 74mm C/w chomol Crank, 35.5x39 SP heads, turbo. Wierd combo, hopeful torque monsta!
