Question about fuses

Hey guys. This is the "fuse box" from my 69 type 1. as you can see a few fuses need replacing.

Need some help about the ratings. i bought some replacements from super cheap and the colours don't seem to match.

I'm guessing white is 8amp? red 16amp? yellow 5amp?
No idea about the orange one (3rd from right) and the cream one (4th from left)... they don't have any markings on them

the ones i got from supercheap are:
white 8amp
pink 16amp
yellow 5amp
blue 25amp

all electricals seem to be working except the right tail light. brake light, indicator and reverse all work on both sides. haven't checked the wiper or horn though

your help is greatly appreciated... also if anyone knows where to get these fuses in their correct colours somewhere in brisbane that would be great. i haven't opened the ones from supercheap so i can return them.

Cheers,
Farhan

You will have to refere to the manual to find out what rating should go into each location, as for the colours check this out,

12volt Beetles with 10 fuse fuseboxes were originally all 8 amp which are white fuses.

people often just play guesswork and put higher amp fuses in when they add on extra things like radios or higher wattage bulbs becuase they have overloaded the circuit.

The amount of people I've seen running electric fuel pumps straight off the fuse box is worrying.

There is a formula for working out the load but if your wiring is up to scratch and not butchered stick with the stock specified fuses.

I have a haynes and a original workshop manual. the workshop manual says 8amp fuses all the way accros. the haynes says 8amp for all except the last one which is 16amp.

That orange one is a 20amp one i think from pottering on the net.
I suppose in true aircooled VW style the previous owner has just put in whatever and it still keeps on going :)

All without setting fire to it.
