Air Cleaners - Weber DCNF for Type 3

Ladies and Germs,

Getting the Type 3 dynoed next week, but I do not have any air filters on my Weber DCNF carbs.

Those of you that run DCNF's what air filters do your run?

Obviously they need to be a very low profile (height)

What do you think of Ram-Flo products?

Names of aussie suppliers that are likely to stock these items??

Thanks

really? why say that? there are 3 other cars int he ACT that run them, and there is a workshop that knows these carbs back to front..

anyway, that doesnt really help.

I will continue to charge forth in this direction.

Would you have me re-install the SOLEX ones?

Dcnf s are good enough for most old school ferraris..... Just because idf are more common for vw doesn't mean you can't make the dcnf s work.... Just harder to get jets and knowledgable tuners.... But if you already have that one licked go with what you've got I reckon.

You just have to know how to work with them, I've got a few sets of DCN and DCNF singles and twins and reckon they are great old carbs,
the late Gene Berg rated them highly too and had fixes for some of their little idiosyncroses like fuel surge on hard cornering.

I have the sqaure filters on on my 1776 which has DCNs on Type3 shorty manifolds.
THe 40mm high elements from memory were low enough to fit under a type 3 hatch.
