type 3 lower ball joints


I have to replace the lower ball joints on a 72 notch. i have read about 10 different ways to do it. anyone know the secret. car is unregistered so has to be done at home. cheers, don

I did mine on my type 34, very easy to do, you will need a torque wrench to tension the ball joints into the arms and tighten the pinch bolts up, a manual is always a good idea so all the information you require is in front of you. remove the bottom ball joint pinch bolt and push the upper arm up complete with the spindle, undo the large nut holding the ball joint in and remove it, install is the reverse. wheel alignment afterwards. make certain that the ball joints are concentric top and bottom.
